Nubians is the general term for the peoples living south of Lower Ba’qet. These peoples ancient kingdoms outdate Ba’qet. At times the Nubian Kingdoms rivaled Ba’qet in their power and glory.
In early history Ba’qet survived many conflicts with the Nubian Kingdoms. Eventually uneasy truces were formed and diplomacy cemented relations between them. Still Ba’qet often maintained the upper hand in relations by supporting weaker kingdoms in order to prevent expansion of their southern neighbors. After Lower Ba’qet was consumed during The Weighing contact with the Nubians was mostly lost. A small flow of information is kept alive by merchants carrying goods up and down the eastern coast. A few foolish souls have attempted to guide trade caravans through the Ourian Spread, but most have not returned alive. In modern times the southern kingdoms are little more than a memory to Upper Ba’qet.
